Officials from the Environmental Protection Department of Farah Province visited the agricultural and animal farm of the Al-Garrafah Foundation.


On 14 May 2025, officials from the Farah Provincial Environmental Protection Department visited the Al-Garrafah Foundation Farm in the Khairabad Plain of Farah Province, headed by Hafiz Burhanuddin Rashid, the provincial head of environmental protection, along with the team of monitoring, inspection, and management of natural heritage conservation. The main purpose of this visit was to inspect the farms related to the breeding of various animal species, which was done through visual observation.

During this visit, Dr. Abdul Karim Ehsan, head of the Bird Breeding Department at Al-Garrafah Foundation, provided explanations about the process of artificial insemination, the production of food for Houbara birds, as well as the production, reproduction, and raising of chicks of these birds. This information was welcomed and positively evaluated by the visiting delegation.

The delegation also visited the farm’s animal section, which houses 2,000 pheasants, 10 peacocks, 200 partridges, 3 pheasants, 214 cicadas, 11 ostriches, 3,600 pheasants, 45 ducks, 395 deer, 55 antelopes, 45 ewe lambs, and 180 local goats.

Further, Farah environmental protection officials inspected 4,000 jujube trees, 4,200 pomegranate trees, 1,200 pistachio trees, 6,000 Qatari date trees, 250 olive trees, 250 najo trees, ten fruit-bearing trees, 65 mulberry trees, and 250 grape vines.
