One of the principal objectives of the AL-Garrafah Foundation in Afghanistan is the development of agriculture. Afghanistan possesses a favorable climate and ample lands suitable for agricultural purposes. For instance, Farah province encompasses thousands of hectares of unused land, making it an ideal location to achieve our agrarian goals. Consequently, the AL-Garrafah Foundation has leased 160 hectares for 30 years from Afghanistan’s government. This land is situated in the Khair Abad desert of Farah province.
The primary activities undertaken on this land include avian breeding and arboriculture. The Foundation embarked on the necessary preparatory construction work to facilitate these activities. Notable projects include the construction of a 5,000-meter boundary wall, hangars, water wells, guard rooms, guard towers, a building for workers, bathrooms, and septic tanks. Additionally, the installation of a solar energy system, a room to house this system, and structures for a bird breeding center, falconry, and animal enclosures were completed.
The project employs over 50 individuals, including the engineering board, administrative staff, veterinarians, skilled workers, farmers, and security personnel.
