The Al-Garrafah Foundation, in response to a request from the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has embarked on the construction of a distinguished masjid and cultural complex within the ministry’s courtyard. This project aims to create a serene and functional space for worship, reflection, and cultural enrichment.

Masjid Specifications:

  • Area: The masjid occupies an impressive 360 square meters, providing ample room for congregational prayers. It can comfortably accommodate up to 300 worshipers simultaneously.
  • Architectural Design: The masjid is thoughtfully designed across two floors, each serving specific purposes:
    • Prayer Areas: Separate sections are allocated for men and women to pray. These spaces are adorned with elegant calligraphy and intricate geometric patterns, reflecting the rich artistic heritage of Afghanistan.
    • Ablution Facilities: Convenient ablution areas are available for both men and women, ensuring ritual purity before prayer.
    • Imam’s Room: An intimate chamber is designated for the imam, where they can lead congregational prayers and provide spiritual guidance.
    • Library: A treasure trove of knowledge awaits visitors—a well-stocked library with religious texts, scholarly works, and cultural literature.
    • Architectural Elements:
      • Minaret: Rising gracefully from the masjid’s structure, a minaret stands as a symbol of spiritual elevation and community unity.
      • Domes: The masjid features a grand central dome, evoking a sense of celestial connection, along with three smaller domes that punctuate the skyline.

This architectural endeavor blends faith, culture, and diplomacy, embodying the essence of Afghanistan’s historical legacy. As the construction progresses, it promises to become a beacon of harmony and enlightenment within the heart of Kabul.
